With November, comes what we consider the gateway to the holiday season, Thanksgiving Day. There are different accounts of the origin of what has become this beloved holiday, but what they all have in common is the recognition of a higher power and giving thanks for those things of which we have been blessed.

Ray's comments: Unfortunately, this subject is near and dear to my heart, or I should say concerns. In the past year, we have had electronic equipment damaged or destroyed twice due to nearby lightning strikes at home. Also, a small FM radio station that I built and put on the air in Camp Verde Arizona was knocked off the air and the transmitter damaged by a strike that hit a nearby building that put a hole right through a clay tile roof, damaging the radio station and taking out telephone and computer equipment at the facility.
David Belding has provided this article that covers a particular concern over the improper installation of corrugated stainless steel gas line which you may have in your home and a lightning strike could catch your house on fire.
